Kyriakos Pierrakakis is a political economist. He currently serves as the Director of Research at Dianeosis, a new Athens-based think tank and also teaches at Athens Tech College. In the past, he worked as Director of Innovation of Athens Information Technology (AIT), as an advisor to the Greek Ministry of Economic Development, as Chairman of Greece’s Institute for Youth and as a researcher at MIT’s Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research (CEEPR) and at the Center for American Progress. Also, he was a member of the Greek government’s negotiating team with the troika of lenders in 2014. Kyriakos Pierrakakis is a graduate of MIT’s Engineering Systems Division, of Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and of the Athens University of Economics and Business.
