Ioannis Triantafyllis

Mr. Ioannis Triantafyllis, born in 1969, is the General Manager of the Central Markets and Fisheries Organization, which owns 2 major Central Wholesale Markets in Greece and administrates the 11 fish wholesale Markets all over the country. He is also the first Greek that has ever been elected as member of the board of the World Union of Wholesale Markets and has represented the Union in EU’s High Level Forum for a better functioning of the food supply chain He has been awarded an MBA from the University of Piraeus, while he has also graduated from the Business Administration School of the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) Athens. He possesses specialization certificates in Project Management & Risk, Greek Economy and Internal Auditing from VTC – University of Athens. He has published academic works on how fresh food prices are formatted from farm to fork, and on financial programming in food distribution. He has been responsible for adapting food market facilities to the EU legislation and served as counselor to various Committees under the Greek ministry of Commerce in subjects dealing with the Wholesale trade. Mr Triantafyllis has also contributed as an advisor or expert in food supply chain matters in the interests of various governments in Middle East and Africa.
