Initially a business lawyer for more than 15 years and a government official for 3 years (as Special Secretary for EU Funds in the Ministry of Education and Research) Faye Orfanou is currently a Technology Transfer Consultant (TT Consultant) as special collaborator with Grant Thornton. She has been a TT Consultant for the Agricultural University of Athens), the National Technical University of Athens and a collaborator of the National Documentation Centre. She graduated from Athens University Law School and obtained an LLM in private law from the University of Frankfurt (Germany) and an LLM in Banking & Finance Law from King’s College of the University of London. She worked as attorney-at-law in Athens Law Firms for both international and Greek clientele. In 2009 she was appointed Special Secretary for EU Funds in the Greek Ministry of Education, a position she held for almost 3 years until July 2012. As Special Secretary for EU Funds she had the opportunity of policy design and policy implementation in the areas of education, lifelong learning and research. She is also founder and administrator of the social enterprise “αέλια – working life lab” which offers career empowerment support to people of all ages. Throughout her professional career she was an active volunteer in environmental NGOs (WWF) and social ventures. Currently she has been volunteering as mentor for startup accelerators and incubators: the Orange Grove of the Dutch Embassy, the Athens Impact Hub, the Aegean University and the Athens University of Economics and Business-Innovation Unit.
